Angela and her husband John live in the one other house in Emsworth I would move to given half a chance. Again, tucked away down a private drive and to the rear of other house, it is an Edwardian house with beautiful front verandah and surrounded by a mature garden which they have looked after for more than fifty years. Beds range from shrubberies, herbaceous borders, vegetable and fruit garden, original 1920s ornamental koi pond and surrounding rockery and gravelled Mediterranean style garden at the front. I’m told what needs doing in this garden each week and follow a list prepared by Angela. It is a hard slog being 3 hours non-stop but, like Malcolm’s, it is a garden I love for its peaceful setting. Angela also opened her garden for the NGS in 2015 alongside me.
Angela is also a member of my folk art class, The Hampshire Heartists, and there are many examples of her work around the garden
