Wandering through garden centres at the moment I can't help but be appalled at the tacky range of plant displays on sale at the moment. Covered in glitter that is going to drop off in the car on the journey home, where it will persist despite vacuuming for the rest of the year, it is also going to cover your Christmas table and surrounding area with its insidious presence. Surely glittered decorations on trees are enough for anyone? Up at Stansted are some appalling red spray-painted box trees. I thought the spray-painted heathers were bad but this is one step further down the slippery slope of tackiness. And in M&S in Chichester today I saw what I thought were bulbs in nice gold pots. How wrong could I be? They were actually spray painted amaryllis bulbs, the outer sides of the bulb having been sprayed gold. Hideous.
On a lighter note though is this amazing floral arrangement from M&S - it certainly made me smile!
