As many of you know, especially those who have visited the garden, I love plants in pots and containers. I've always envied Great Dixter with their wonderful displays of pots in the front garden and decided to try and replicate this in the back garden with an array of tropical and tropical looking plants sitting on a wooden bench. Plants include left over dahlias from the plant sale (Natal and Arabian Night), a standard dark red abutilon, a dark red and a dark orange calla lily, a red climbing Thunbergia and a Ricinus communis that I can't fit in the garden anywhere. All I need to do now is to remember to water it regularly and do something that I ought to do a lot more - feed them. That is something I am very bad with and rarely do but it seems a shame not to give these plants a better showing off with some added potash and nitrogen.
